And you, how far would you go to uncover the truth?
One Sunday morning, an ashtray lands with a clatter in Jade’s living room. It’s a strange object—one she has never owned, nor even seen in her home before. How did it get there?
An artist accustomed to travel and a gentle, steady daily life, Jade has no idea that this small mystery is merely the beginning of many more questions. Before long, the unthinkable happens, leading her to walk through the doors of a police station.
Caught between elusive truths, illuminating encounters, and unexpected events—by turns humorous and painful—Jade finds her life turned upside down.
In this tender and sparkling novel, Mélodie Marine blends humor, realism, and emotion to explore, through Jade’s eyes, the complex bond between a victim and the justice system.
Will Jade be able to find all the answers?
A sincere and courageous story that poses the question: Does life hold many unsolvable mysteries for us?
